Personally I would be applying the Senator John Kennedy approach and lay on the sugarcoated sarcasm.

I would offer a bill that pays Roofing Contractors to train the Secret Service to work on sloped roofs.

Then I would propose a bill to have people in the outer perimeter crowd teach observational techniques to the Secret Service.

Every excuse she makes would result in a bill that made her look even more ridiculous.
