I can't watch the vid right now but I've said from when Trump first brought it up that I don't like the idea at all. Giving cops some kind of blanket immunity is a little too Martial Law-ish for me.
I know most cops are good but a lot of them aren't and immunity would make the bad ones worse and the borderline ones go over the edge.
I'm not sure it will become law because something that gives the government a monopoly on force AND blanket immunity is bound to cause sow discontent, resentment, and instability in society.
If you need me to substantiate that most cops are good but a lot of them aren't I'll have to take you outside of your bubble so you can take a look around.
More onion, and the fact that I 'substantiated my assertion' and all you do is complain about the source as if there aren't more.
You on the other hand Mr. Scrottum have provided nothing so far but bullshit to our little exchange. Take some time to do a little research and you may learn something. Either way, I hope you have a happy and productive GFY.
Let me ask you a couple of questions: Are all cops good? Are there cops that are corrupt? Are there cops that are bullies? Are there cops that are cowards?
Answer those questions honestly and you will have all the proof you need. Beyond that you are looking for links and news clippings that you know aren't necessary.
You are being ridiculous, and I suspect it's because you know I'm correct. You are trying to save face and come out on top of whatever the hell this is but you are just embarrassing yourself at this point.
Boiling water is a weapon the same as any other. They were all casual with her until she threatened them with it, then like (many such cases) ignores all commands to drop it.
she absolutely did not threaten them with it. she moved it because they told her to. of course she's not going to drop a pot of boiling water at her own feet, that's a ridiculous request.
she calmly went to put it on the counter, while the officers were well out of range, and had nothing obstructing their retreat. the one officer responded extremely aggressively to her phrase 'i'll rebuke you in the name of Jesus'
the woman did her very best to comply... and got shot because this officer is a giant pussy who shudders at the name Jesus. Should be treated like any other murder. nothing like fentanyl floyd's OD.
She picked it up and said "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus". Anyone that's been to church knows you're about to get splashed with holy water/oil following that phrase, he said you better not and drop it. Seconds rolled by and she still didn't put the fucking thing down after several commands to do so. This is all on her.
Absolutely not what that phrase means. Completely insane take. Of course she had to take a few seconds to carefully move a pot of hot water. She was not being aggressive at all.

⬆️ That's what I was thinking too when I read the article. But then I watch the video closely. It sounds like she has a sort of evangelical-Tourette's syndrome if you will.
She tried to slowly lower the pot of water on to the ground so as not to "drop it" and get burned.
If you don't see it, you have to look closer. There's a reason the police are treating one of their own so harshly on this because it's shocking.
awful police work. at the very least he should lose his badge.
the video doesn't even explain why they were in her house to begin with.
she called because she heard someone outside, they checked it out and told her there was nobody... they ask if they can do anything else for her, and she says no... they ask if she's doing okay mentally, and she says yes... all good so far! why didnt they just leave?
then they're inexplicably searching her place... she starts moving a pot because they ask her to... she weirdly namedrops Jesus, and then he shoots her.
this cop a fucking demon or something? or was he really just that scared of this slow ass old lady ten feet away with a pot of hot water, not acting aggressively at all. except for a very calm statement about Jesus. either way... he is in the wrong line of work.
It is possible that "unofficial acts" having zero immunity for Executive Branch employees also applies to state, county, city corporations now. Cities are subsidiaries of county corporations which are subsidiaries of state corporations (municipal service corp, since 1933). These MSCs are domiciled in D.C. (foreign territory, outside of Republic) as part of Executive Branch (one of the Department's subsidiaries, suspected IRS or Treasury Dept). STATE OF MAINE (MSC) is not Maine State (sovereign Union state), COUNTY OF ROCHESTER is not Rochester County, and CITY OF DETROIT is not Detroit City (unincorporated location).
Technically, all city police officers are corporate employees of the Federal Gov, Article II Executive Branch, via the Deep State usurpations and corporate overlays, and it is possible to use this against them since 7-1-24 SCOTUS decision (immunity stripped) and 6-28-24 (all rules and regulations are NOT Laws, Chevron Doctrine overturn).
"Qualified Immunity" may only apply now in STATE CORP COURTS. If one sues in Federal District Court, it may not apply any more for "unofficial acts" which is nearly everything now (~95% of all rules and regulations are not passed by Congress as LAWS, yet have been applied as such since 1984 Chevron decision until 6-28-24 overturn).
1st off, that lady was fucking crazy.
The cop shouldn't have said "I'll fucking shoot you in the fucking face", that comment will ensure he spends most of his remaining life in Jail.
The video has been broken down and it looks like she was starting to throw the pot of boiling water at the police, but it doesn't matter, this happened in Illinois and the cop involved will be made example of.

''Qualified immunity'' is NOT blanket immunity
''lot of them aren't''
Substantiate your assertion.
Explain it to us Professor if you know what Trump is proposing, and please substantiate your explanation with proofs. Here is something I found in a few seconds on the web: ..." Qualified immunity is a judicial doctrine created by the Supreme Court that shields state actors from liability for their misconduct, even when they break the law."... https://www.americanbar.org/groups/public_education/publications/insights-on-law-and-society/volume-21/issue-1/qualified-immunity/
If you need me to substantiate that most cops are good but a lot of them aren't I'll have to take you outside of your bubble so you can take a look around.
''The American Bar''....rigghhht.!
Riddle me this, what can we expect to find when we peel the skin off this onion?

You have substantiated nothing.
You posted: ''I know most cops are good but a lot of them aren't'',
You were asked to substantiate your assertion.
You failed to provide any citation to prove your post.
And as for your GFY, take your own advice.
Let me ask you a couple of questions: Are all cops good? Are there cops that are corrupt? Are there cops that are bullies? Are there cops that are cowards?

u/Framus do you ever get the feeling you're arguing with a bot?
That was way overboard, and totally wrong language to use
