SAIC split into SAIC and Leidos. Partially to grab a share of the lucrative government IT market. SAIC is primarily about farming out smart people. But it is a bit of a pyramid scheme.
Not everything in the government is a secret. Some parts of it are no different than a business. The government uses contractors for all sorts of jobs. It's not really that unusual.
Now now. There you go, thinking again. We'll have none of that around here, mmmkay? We ALL know the gubment knows what it's doing and ALWAYS has our best interests in mind./s
Do anyone know about Leidos Holdings Inc.? That is who they hacked.

You would think our government would handle our own IT, instead of farming it out.
It's probably cheaper to hire IT contractors. When the task is completed, you're done with the contractors. No need to keep them on permanently.
But it is a risk farming government business out.
