I am just rewatching bladerunner 2049 and it talks about a blackout in the mid 2020's that lasted 10 days, wiped all the computer systems clean.
Seems a bit of a coincidence.

Interesting.
Remember all those people, having suddenly a back-eye, left or right?
Last Saturday our house lost internet, cell phone and landline phone all at once. All different providers. I was really wondering if this was it. Guess not.
Went out last weekend to Wally Mart and bought a 4K TV Antenna with 40 mile range for $21. When internet goes down Iβm now watching GITMO Military Tribunals in 4K. Oh, also grabbed moar Popcorn πΏπ€£ππ
Only way that happens is if it's a ten day EMP. Anything bad enough to wipe computers clean would have LONG since wiped out the power grid, and that blackout would be for months if people are lucky.
Or a very sophisticated worm.
Great post OP!
What if the current publicly known capabilities of AI were already realized in the late 90s?
Only one way to kill it.
No doubt but even the worst would still leave behind massive amounts of data that's air gapped. It would be catastrophic and I wouldn't put it past the GloboHomos I just don't think it would quite reach what's referenced in this movie.
Also, can't take out critical data storage (eg. Hospitals, banks, etc)..
Its looking for a song it cant remember only watched itself taken in before it bit down and tasted what it wanted and now its color drains and retards itself to stone thus leaving exposed a truth only lifted by whim. The only truths uttered may be by fools
