According to NASA, Sea level around Galveston, Texas, has risen by 18 inches since 1950. The researchers predict the sea level along the western Gulf Coast could rise as much as 25 inches by 2050.
It's really funny that sea levels aren't rising nearly that much in Mexico, along the Florida and Georgia coast or in California... but boy, do we ever have sea level rise in Galveston. :>)
Funny how water only rises in one area, but not others. OR... maybe Galveston island is a sandbar... and it's not the water that's rising.
