I posted here last November about bloodwork I had done that showed elevated Thyroid Stimulating Hormone, indicating hypothyroidism. Of course the medical professional (RN) I was seeing at the time wanted to put me on Levothyroxine. I resisted, started taking a kelp supplement thanks to the recommendation of the good people on this board, and this year my TSH is well within the normal range. However, unfortunately, now my cholesterol numbers are high, particularly triglycerides, so if anyone has ideas how to get that under control I would appreciate the help. In any case, thanks Great Awakening! Edit to add: The doctor wants me to try diet and exercise for 3 months and then retest cholesterol. So no prescriptions for now. Again, you people are wonderful!

Speaking of margarine… My cousin was recently in a world renowned cardiac hospital in Cleveland. She had just had a Watchman installed, has a history of a cardiac valve replacement. Guess what they gave her. The first day she got butter, after that whipped margarine or something resembling margarine! Guess they don’t follow the science!
I haven't had any sort of margarine since the 1990s Began the low carb lifestyle in `99 and learned a lot about cholesterol. All my blood work is good, high-ish LDLs (They keep changing the low number) Ratio is excellent.
Put a lump of butter and similarly sized lump of margarine outside. Watch what happens. Margarine will still be there weeks later...The innate wisdom of creatures great and small know it's poison...why don't people?
Yep, and why does a world renowned heart center serve it and Diet Coke. Diet anything promotes illness including obesity and diabetes. They want you sick. There is no incentive to cure.
