SEC was asking Billions in penalties. Court ruled $125 mil.
CONCLUSION
The SEC’s motion for remedies and the entry of final judgment is GRANTED IN PART
and DENIED IN PART. The Court shall enter a final judgment enjoining Ripple from further violations of the securities laws and imposing a civil penalty of $125,035,150
No disgorgement, No fraud or misappropriation.
XRP is Not a Security.
Court also rejected SEC's claim:
The SEC suggests that each of Ripple’s “1,700 relevant contracts” constitutes a
separate violation
And there the "17" number again.
And my XRP holdings just went up 20% ....😁😎
same fren :)
Just the beginning ...
This week JP Morgan-Chase said they will start accepting Ripple for credit card and mortgage payments. Hoping it’s about to pop off because I have been buying it bi-monthly for a while . All time high is $3.84 and it’s currently $.61.
Crypto just flys right over my head. Do you buy Ripple or XRP, and where do you buy it?
I bought them last month because they can pull the switch anytime and it may go quick, or it may stagger like it'll go up 200% then come down, rinse and repeat to flush all the players out while institutions buy them all up.
If you were a Democrat or RINO in Congress you would have sent a letter to the judge demanding to know how he was going to rule and then made some stock purchases based on the reply.
I read somewhere soon we can also loan out our XRP, or back it with / purchase real estate..don't know what that means though
There have been hints of staking it maybe but there is so far no way to earn income on holding xrp
