Not a military guy just curious what should his logo with his ranking look like
It should be just a star between the chevrons and rockers denoting Sergeant Major, not what is on the coin, with star and feathers denoting Command Sergeant Major.
He shouldn't even have any SM rank on that coin. It was a conditional promotion, called a frocking. No pay for the rank until he completed the Army's Sergeant Majors course, which he never completed. When he retired, he retired at the rank of First Sergeant (E-8), one paygrade lower, which was the last OFFICIAL paygrade he held.
Ah, I was thinking he was SGM going for CSM. Didn’t realize he retired as a Top. Definitely stolen valor.
Nope, he was a MS—the piece of shit.
No star in center, should be blank, he was a Master Sergeant and did not complete the requirements for Sergeant Major (star) nor Command Sergeant Major (star w/leaves).
He was an E8. He bolted before he got officially promoted.
Yeah, I was under impression he was a SGM awaiting CSM school. Didn’t realize he retired as a MSGT.

I don't know if he was demoted to Sergeant Major or Master Sergeant, but here is a good page for all of the rank insignia: https://www.defense.gov/Resources/Insignia/

No demotion, he was never promoted past Master Sgt
He was a MSGT, so enter text
Thank you
