I kept wondering if they were they easily propagandized because they were already a little (maybe a lot) ignorant and prejudiced, or if the propaganda is so effective that it eventually overwrites perceived reality for those lacking the anchor of common sense.
I'm leaning toward the latter because of how assured they all are that their extremely low expectations are a virtuous.
My personal opinion is that higher education dissolves the critical thinking skills and makes their adjustment to real world reality that much more difficult. Surprising when your political ideology means you willingly starve yourself and you blame everyone but you.
