Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
If you've been demoralized thinking i've been at this forever, and it's taking so long, just remember there have been people doing this for decades.
If people doing this for decades isn't enough to help you understand, Christ has been working to wake people up for 2000 years.
The key takeaway is patience is a virtue that will help you grow immensely strong.
2 Peter 3:8-9
But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
a quote I heard years ago, in my maybe mid 20s? and it only gains value with its antiquity...
"Growing old is a privilege denied to many"
If you're one of a very small percentage, you will live a decade.
Imagine what the world looked like 100 years ago, and what it will look like 100 years from now.
It'll still be chaos, it'll still be beautiful, and it'll still be hard to imagine to anyone who isn't part of those years.
We're here, we're in whatever this is. And this is something big.
Great advice and very true. I can’t imagine being awake half my life. Sometimes I wish I wasn’t awake because my brain was working 24/7. In the long run it’s better to be aware. We have to find what keeps us sane to achieve a balance. I’m finally at the point of acceptance that things aren’t as we were told. It helps that I’ve always been a pessimist and questioned things.
Edit: just saw this and it’s spot on. https://greatawakening.win/p/1994os3B6D/awakening-is/c/
