Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
I stopped nursing at 5 months, he just wanted to do it all the time, and I thought he was not getting enough, luckily I had a great ob gyn and pediatrician who recommended only goats milk in a bottle, I could not always get fresh, even though I live in a small farm area, it was in such demand, there is a powdered goats mild, oh I remember middle of the night feedings with me mixing it up in the kitchen at 2am!! Processed foods, after eating whole foods, tastes horrible, there was not a lot of it when I was growing up, but I remember eating baloney sandwiches and loving it when I was a kid, I tried some awhile back, uggggh!
I breast feed six weeks and milk dried up. The doctor had already told me I needed to switch to formula because she was under weight. This was 1992, I didn’t think about reading the ingredients. Hopefully the formula wasn’t as unhealthy as today. Thankfully she’s always been healthy. That is certainly a good doctor to suggest goat milk. I’m not sure of your age, bologna used to taste great. Growing up in the 70s most of the food wasn’t toxic like today. Most sandwich meat, bacon, sausage and hot dogs has corn syrup, high fructose and sugar. I tried a hotdog this summer after many months of eating burger, butter, eggs & steak. It was disgusting, tasted like sugar. I couldn’t believe it. I had been craving a hotdog for months. It was such a letdown. Also most sausage has some sort of grain for binding. My local sausage company that I’ve eaten since I was a kid has grits as an ingredient. I knew about most toxins but didn’t know about meats filled with sugar and corn.
