There are basically two times where I correct people here with regards to how they post. (not what they post, as this is a research forum)
If they are calling for violence, per mod request
And if they appear to be actively misrepresenting Christ. Mixing reproof with confrontational anger and name calling, without it being a justified rebuke for outright blasphemy or some other serious affront, should be avoided and calmly corrected.
If this has failed at being a gentle reproof for your benefit (though one might ask how my correction to you is unacceptable, while your correction to him was fine), then let these two statements be for his peace instead, and I’ll say no more.
i was called a Nazi for asking politely to capitalize the G in God. did you correct that person for calling me a Nazi?
i replied with blah, blah, dipshit. i've seen way worse name calling here than that. and the person came back at me with the wrong info so i corrected the anon again with the same name. no F bombs, no threats, nothing.
The original post pointed out that you were correct, other than your approach to engagement, and he said “a grammar Nazi”, which is an American phrase, if you aren’t from here.
Apologies that the reproof couldn’t be private, per biblical protocol, due to the nature of what it was regarding. I do prefer that. Hope you have a blessed day, fren.
1 Peter 4:17-19
17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
