You’d need to get a definition of what they personally consider Toxic. Some people don’t have an issue with alternative thoughts. They have an issue with method of delivery.
Someone who for instance is the Emotional “Everyone is good deep down. Humanity needs to be united in Hope and love” types. Might have an issue with some takes on race for instance. When it’s delivered as a Schizophrenic Tirade about needing to implement a Eugenics program against whoever the poster deems inferior or just doesn’t like. Where as a calm approach of “I don’t like Group X and want them far away from me and mine if not annihilated outright. These are my reasons why.) May not necessarily generate the same reaction.
it amuses me though the idea that Humans are somehow predisposed to being naturally loving and accepting of people from outside their Group/Culture. And that it’s manipulation of outside non-human groups/Alien species that makes us hate/distrustful of those culturally and ethnically different than us.. That has somehow taken root particularly in the West.
When historically we’ve been predisposed to being anything but. And not without reason. As Strange People marching through your slice of the countryside, or worse building settlements, and strange ships on the Horizon. Usually heralded bad news for you and your village. Often delivered via Fire and Sword.
Also why religions for centuries normally include bits about being accepting of strangers and taking their feelings into account and being willing to entertain their eccentricities. And that you maybe unknowingly entertaining God, Gods, or Angels. Depending on the era of history and dominant culture/religion of the time period.
As It’s hard as a ruler/powerbroker to build a large society/nation, spread your religion, and exert influence. When your people are perpetually distrustful of anyone who’s not from your group.

Free will loses its potency if you remove most of the options to choose from. We live in a reality (world) built upon a dichotomy... meaning, you can't define up without the contrast of down, hot without cold, short without tall. Removing our pool of ideas to choose from literally erodes our free will.
We didn't get free will from anyone on the planet. We arrived with it. Thus nobody can take it away. That is what the first amendment is all about.
