Look in southern central Florida. Contrary to popular belief of the real estate market down here, there are still affordable homes. You won't be right next to the ocean of anything, but it will be affordable and pretty safe inland with us rednecks.
We have a realtor near Ocala National Forest. That area is cheaper however everyone know who lives in Florida said the insurance rates are going through the roof.
Some of the people are moving because that can't afford insurance.
I am older and I can't be worrying about paying insurance.
I am also looking at Eastern TN, (they are going crazy there putting crap up over 300K), Berkeley Springs, WV and VA in Greene County.
