Although we will be held accountable for our words, actions, and inactions that's not to say we will be held in Judgment for them. If we hold a repentative heart, actively try to better ourselves, improve our interactions with others, and ask for forgiveness when we do mess up while trying to make it right, that will act as a weight on the balance scales tipping them into our favor. I believe you're right in saying it's like a court with Jesus acting on our behalf.
I hope my response was on point with your question, I could expand on this if there's something you feel I may have not covered as I wanted to give you a timely answer and wasn't prepared for such a theological question this early.
I appreciate you and your inquiry fren.
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
2 Chronicles 7:14
"Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins."
Colossians 1:13-14
When I feel like things aren't getting better the LORD often sends me an unexpected sign that gives me hope again. It seems to be a prevailing theme throughout the Bible and I don't think thats coincidental.
I asked for salvation at a very young age, then went … not wildly astray but definitely off the straight and narrow in my young adulthood.
There are verses such as Hebrews 10:26 that say that “if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins”, but then also verses about how “for we all like sheep have gone astray”, and also the fact that there have been plenty of chances to go ahead and remove me from the game board where his miraculous grace has brought me through.
At the end of the day, I’m weak and flawed, and can only plead the blood. It took a long time, but Progress is finally being made. Hopefully.
Here’s a funny one, being surrounded by your enemies can feel like you’ve come up under a curse - as if you’ve been cut off from your people as a result of your sins, and maybe that’s so, but… it also allows for a table to be prepared in the midst of your enemies. Halleluyah!
I thank you for sharing a bit of your story fren. I shared a similar trajectory on my path and have found myself back where I started but with alot more knowledge and understanding, funny how that beginning to the end works.

Maybe it's the borax talking, but I feel like we are slowly managing to turn things around.

That boron is lowering your inflammation and your system is operating at a higher efficiency. You're feeling again.
