The National Weather Service recycles names every six or seven years.
Except if the storm does enough damage, like Katrina or Harvey. Then the name is retired and replaced when the list rotates back around.
I think OP is referring not only to the name but the dates and the intensity. 66 years later to the day with the same (Cat4) intensity.
Economy sorta sucked in 1958 too IIRC. Decent size recession. One of the reasons 1958 vehicle sales slumped across all manufacturers compared to '57 and '59
It was also a midterm election year. Under President Eisenhower, Republicans almost always lost ground in Congress during midterms. Plus the deep state needed some help to ensure 1958 was no exception. The only exceptions have come recently as 1998 (Democrats) and 2002 (Republicans) gained in Congress while holding the White House. I see 2018 as a wash as Trump lost the house but gained a seat in the US Senate.
Not only that but the weather dweebs are already reporting a series of hurricanes all the way not to October 11. A tropical wave...
Nah, they've been doing that since at least the mid-1990s.
Tropical wave, tropical depression, tropical storm, hurricane. Those are the order by wind speed.
I've been hit by a tropical depression a couple of times. Hurricanes too.
That graphic is fun. If we look at wikipedia revision history from 2010, a different story is told.
