Growing up, I remember being fascinated by motel signs in my town. They would have a sign up that boasted about their color t.v.'s (sic). The "color" in their sign highlighted by six different colors for each letter, and they were comically misaligned, causing the viewer of the sign to think, "Man, these guys have some crazy rooms, but not too crazy so as I won't stay there to avoid some kind of injury, but crazy enough for me to tell my friends at work around the water cooler Monday morning about the crazy time I had at the Crazy 8 Motel and that I had survived the weekend to tell the tale." I had an overactive imagination as a child.
I should mention they also had an adjoining restaurant/banquet facility, but the funniest sign I ever saw on a hotel was 'plan your spring affairs with us'! 😄
