Trump was not falling for the third-party trick. IMHO that voting yes on something I don't like to get something I do like is a flawed system. Political Parties are tribalism. I want to vote no or yes according to what the bill is for according to my morals, not compromise my morals. Same thoughts regarding Plea Bargaining, what a travesty.

When the Dems claim Meh Democracy aren't they actually saying that Felons who had their voting rights restored (Often undeservedly these days), Insane People, and people with Dementia should all have an equal say? In my view Felons having their votes restored should have to have proved they deserve the reenstatement.
People who are insane or suffering dementia should not be allowed to vote at all.
I'll stick my neck out and say since the average Joe on the street really doesn't care and participates shouldn't be allowed to vote. If you don't understand the issue maybe you will actually choose poorly, NOT what you would choose if you were well informed. I have seen people who vote the opposite way they wish by trick wording.
and that's basically the difference between a republic and a democracy. a republic includes discussion and has to make sense.
this is why pure democracy is such an effective tool for division. coincidentally, the 'de' in democracy comes from the same root as the 'de' in demon. and that root word 'deh' means 'to divide'.

Yeah, meh Democracy appeals to the lazy, underachievers, and the mega-rich
That's why voting was limited to property owners when the country began; it was those with a vested interest.
I would say taxpayers now, but I'm still hoping that taxes are eliminated.
Owning property gives a person a sense of responsibility that simply paying taxes doesn't.
I'm all for that, and I no longer own property in the USA, but if voting was done that way things would be different, and owning land would be a better option. Maybe the concept could apply to other assets, not just land. Interesting to contemplate.
