I can’t join you. I will study the scripture with fervor. It certainly helps relieve my worries about our current state. God DOES step in when He decides it’s warranted.
Parting the Red Sea.
Closing the lions mouths in the Lion’s Den.
Destroying the world with a flood.
Etc.
i'm with you TLCOG. tbh, i can't think of another book in this world that a person can read daily, their entire life (say 70-80 years) and never get bored with it.
and also, finding new and exciting things as well (in the book you've already read), pretty much every time you read it. it's just too amazing for it to be written by man without the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
can you imagine reading any other one book for 70-80 years? i couldn't.
Not even a little bit. No other book could possibly compare. There’s no way to fully understand it, or know it, because God keeps revealing different things in the same passage depending on your current struggle.
this is a fallen world. we have many battles to fight because of that.
imo, God gave us the Bible to teach us how to fend off evil, as well as teach us how to have a relationship with not only our friends and family, but with Him.
i would think people would be more upset if God just left us on earth and didn't give any tools to defend ourselves against satan and his minions, thus, the Bible (a spiritual war manual, if i may), the Holy Spirit, and Jesus.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
New International Version
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Spiritual War Manual - you absolutely may!!! Sword of Truth! ⚔️
That's subjective to interpretation.
Did they see a large face and powerful glowing hand. With a guy saying "I am God... I got this for you??"
Wow! 🤯
I am a strong person of faith my friend. I grew up in the Church.
But from all of study. God would not speak to us in "Subjective" terms. God would know that it has to be simple and clear of what he means.
The 10 commandments are clear instructions take be easily be taught to any human being on earth.
These commandments also allow people from various backgrounds to be able to live amoung each other in peace.
Look at the Jews vs Palestine conflict.
They are killing each other over "SCRIPTURE".

As far as killing being blamed on the scriptures, that’s a human problem, a free-will problem, a sin problem…not a Scripture problem.
