Whats with the rate limited message on searching?

Anytime I try to search I end up with this Rate Limited message

Someone posted the other day it is there for spam bot DDOS protection, guess forum was being hit with that via the search function or something,

I experienced the same issue last week. Rate limited on mobile browser but search worked on desktop. I cleared my mobile browser cache and it seemed to fix the issue. But, could've been a coincidence in timing too.
