Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Rules For the rest of the Site also accessible on the sidebar.

I should have, but you can't keep a bus sitting still in the road too long and there were a couple of vehicles behind him. And that angry look upon his face was like he had turned to someone happy into a demon instantly. You should have been there. It really scared me, but I kept my composure.
Spiritual warfare is a real thing. He is definitely oppressed by demons, who control his emotions. This is pretty awful.
It caught me off guard as he was always a happy looking man. Would have never dreamed it.
You might want to think about another way to transport your grandchild, I wouldn't trust someone like that with such a precious kid.
This is why so many of us self-censor
Whether it's with plumbers, dental hygienists, cab drivers, motor mechanics.
You just do not know who you are dealing with!
Exactly.... this is unknown territory for me. I used to have confidence in judging people and my sense of where they're at. I have been spectacularly wrong more often than not.
Little things I think are funny are taken wrong and the over-reaction is weird. Some stuff that really irks some, irks me too but for completely different reasons.
My oars are pulled in, and I'm practicing liking & being better at being solitary.
True. Discernment is useful for self-preservation. Don't excite strangers with political jabs or by wearing items that can enrage them. We WON!! We, personally will not bring about societal changes, so we should try to be persons who spread peace and actual joy among our neighbors. No more jabbing blue-haired ladies!! Let them be, and perhaps they will join us as sisters in the new world that is being created around us.
They have bus monitors (real people) who are responsible for your little ones while they are on board. Her morning one is her teachers aid and the afternoon one is another woman. After the holidays, the afternoon monitor is a man who loved to tell her how cute she is while we were waiting to get her brother off the bus when he was in preschool. He looks trustworthy too, so I don't fear anything. Kentucky don't put up with anyone messing with our children in our schools. Our schools even have double doors with a camera outside that you must look into, show your ID, state your purpose before they even open the first set of doors. Then you wait until a school official comes with a police officer to the second set of doors. We don't play around.
Can confirm all of this. Our school systems are tighter than a drum after the Marshall County habbening a few years back.
Amen. Thanks for the confirmation.
Thats awesome your school has all those precautions. I was just worried about the angry bus driver.... it's a huge responsibility driving a school bus.
I think the Bus Monitor would step in to protect the child. They are there for that reason and to keep the little ones from getting out of hand OR ratherly; jumping around the bus while it's moving. Also, our bus monitors and teachers (not all) are allowed to have a gun in their classrooms (hidden of course) after taking a gun course.
