I've said time and again that [they] won't attempt it, and I still mostly feel this way, but I would be remiss if I didn't say that things are looking very dicey and that [they] just might try a nuclear strike somewhere, if for nothing else than to ramp up humanity's fear levels to extreme heights probably not seen since The Flood.

Not enough people are taking the threat of nuclear war seriously. I have several acquaintances who are absolutely thrilled about the US and NATO attacking Russia. They honestly believe Russia is losing badly, Putin is desperate to surrender, and nuclear strikes are impossible because he will be deposed immediately if he tries it.

I am having an increasingly hard time believing we have any hope of reaching the precipice unless there are actual nuclear detonations.

So at this point, I think it is becoming increasingly likely that these wars will be allowed to go nuclear.
