The fact that Thune decided to make Mitch McConnell head of the rules committee means he plans on stopping Trump’s agenda in the Senate.
Head of the rules committee is the most powerful position in the Senate.
He will not allow recess appointments. He will make it harder to vote on bills he doesn’t like. He will do everything to protect pork filled omnibus bills.
And Thune put him there.
