Influential retired FBI leader says agents back Kash Patel as next director: ‘He's the right fix’
After President Biden pardoned his son because of "politicization" of the FBI, Kash Patel's nomination may very well justify Team Trump's approach to cleaning house at the revered agency that allowed "politics to usurp crime fighting," says a former FBI Sp...
A lot of the field agents probably joined because they wanted to fight crime, inspired by all the fiction throughout the decades of the organization's existence depicting heroic FBI agents doing exactly that.
And then they were faced with reality...
I agree. Nearly all of the FBI/CIA/Spy shows are recruitment propaganda.
The inside is likely much different.
We do need great men and women in these roles. With Kash in charge, hopefully, the so-called "good rank and file" will come forward and spill all the beans on the old guard once they feel safe.
If no one comes forward to expose the rot, even once Kash is in charge, then we will know that the entire operation is rotten to the core and must be abolished once and for all.
You’re right. There was an FBI show on in the 60s which I watched as a kid, and there’s two shows on now. I always wondered if they were propaganda tools.
You are thinking of "The FBI" (1965-1974), a Quinn Martin production with Efrem Zimbalist Jr. as the lead. Just a police procedural. QM produced 12 crime drama series between 1961 and 1977. Unlikely that he bothered to trim his jib to accommodate propaganda.
A more likely influence would be "The FBI Story" (1959) with Jimmy Stewart, depicting a highlighted history of the FBI in the life of one agent.
How do you feel about today’s two FBI series on one of the networks that have been on at least the last 5 years? I haven’t watched a single episode.
Gosh, I haven't seen either of them. I think the last police program i watched on a regular basis was Miami Vice, still a favorite. I have no idea what these series are like.
Too late. They only had to follow the law and constitution. Pretending that they are now suddenly law abiding won’t cut it.
It will be wonderful getting rid of all the dead wood..
Moral only getting higher among the rank & file people in there.
Ted Gunderson's no longer with us, but I am sure he'd approve.
