I totally get the sentiment, I literally lost my job on 10/31 due to the factory I was working at closing it's doors. I also understand what the OP means as there are far too many of these types of stores open, pushing the trash on people. It's definitely a double edged sword no matter how you look at it.
And in addition to all the Chinese junk and its impact on American manufacturing, these large chains have been a killer to small businesses across America. Bring small businesses back to main street.
Yes, that’s a problem. But other retail jobs exist. And when we kick the illegal immigrants out, and make hiring less of a bureaucratic mess, there will be even more available.
Sincerely—someone who has worked retail but does not do so at the moment due to working at minimum wage at her university for flexibility during school.
“I actually don’t mind if some of these close.“
I’m gonna take a really wild guess that neither you nor any of your relatives (that you care about) work at any of these stores. 🤔

Sorry you lost your job. I hope we start to finally see manufacturing return to this country once the tariffs are in place.

Thank you. I turned it around about as quick as I could and got an even better job in less than a month.
Glad to hear it!!

Restructuring is required and it isnt going to be painless. But at the end of the day we will be stronger for it.
