This is America. I have never seen a hard worker starve in this country.
We all know one. Has a job. Plus he cuts lawns or puts a scoop on his truck every winter, and so on.
This man will never starve. And it won't be because of SNAP. Yes, times are tough, but we know how to keep our heads above water. HARD WORK.
Good times will return. And they will be better for those who worked the hardest.
If someone is one of those who have an idea that some work is beneath them. I guarantee you this is one who will bitch the most when it gets tough. Those who instantly roll up their sleeves are too busy to bitch.
Im gonna get downvoted for this. Because what you day SHOULD be true. But sadly, right now it isnt. I know a family of 5, 26 and 29 y/o parents with 3 kids but also taking care of one of their mothers in a 3 bedroom apt for 1850/mo dad is an electrician, mom works at a daycare because she cant get a job with her history degree which shes paying student loans for. Mom then had an emergency appendectomy, and dad ruptured his l5 disc within 2 months of eachother, then their only car needed a brake job the following month. Its wiped them out completely.
They are scared. I would be terrified. The point is... That may be the case for some people, but its certainly not the case for everyone. This country is built to saddle you with outstanding debt and then suffocate you to death.
I see corruption being the biggest problem in america by a mile so ive bought into this completely. But this is an age where sometimes "pull yourself up," just isnt enough. The people in charge have slowly let the situation get out of control and we are dearly paying for it.. i understand they have been extremely unlucky. But between childcare, student debt, emergency debt, and sky high rent, because its impossible for people to get into homes in a lot of cases, Especially younger folks with lower credit scores for various life reasons; there are major problems that need to be adressed.
Hard work CAN AND WILL set you up for success. But we live in a vountry where despite that, extenuiating circumstances outsixe of your control can push you over the edge easily.
Not trying to be a dick because ive seen for years what you do and contribute to this community. Ive been here since the beginning. But youre wrong here bro
Sad story for sure. But I am not wrong. Because someone having more crap happen to them in a week then happens in years does not disprove my point.
As far as medical, they can legally pay one dollar a month per bill and be ok. They may get calls and letters but so long as they don't miss a monthly payment there is no legal recourse against them. As far as work goes. I assume neither are working. Let alone working hard. Again providing my point. A meteor landing on ones head does not disprove anything. Other than a theory of face meteors.
Having had multiple back surgeries that have altered my life and life style. I feel for the guy. Tell him to stretch and strengthen.
Just because she went to school for history does not mean she can't get another job. I know of places hiring $30+/hr. With no skills needed. Like I said, if a job is "beneath" you, then well ..... Point proven.
A down vote won't come from me. Not only do I rarely down vote. I never down vote compassion.
