Roberts being gay, a "confirmed bachelor" his entire life before he was on the short list to become a SC justice, quickly gets married and bought a couple of kids enough of something?
More than likely they had something on him. I do remember Obama going to the Supreme Court either a few weeks before or days before and having a conversation with someone there. It could have been, probably was, Roberts-but the MSM, of course, didn't say and didn't care-as far as I know.
I know the Dems/Commies sent the bill in both ways, but Roberts should have sent it back to have a vote on it being a tax. He changed it, by me, by fiat. The Congress didn't pass it as a tax (as I remember) it had to be changed and Roberts did it for them.
It was unclear if the penalty was a tax or not. The government actually argued that it wasn't a tax at one stage of the arguments and argued that it was a tax at another stage. Because the Supreme Court did not want to say that doing nothing was engaging in interstate commerce, which would have killed the law, they said that the penalty was constitutional because it was a tax which is under Congress' purview. Roberts was the deciding vote.
I remember some of that, but somehow my mind keeps thinking Roberts should have sent it back to congress to pass it as a tax and not have "changed" it to one. I believe congress did not want to pass it as tax as our population (Americans) would not have appreciated as a tax. I do remember the penalty part. I still think Roberts did the wrong thing by making a tax and not sending it back to congress to pass it as a tax. We know they could tax us, but not penalize us.

Huh? The ACA Supreme Court decision declared that it WAS a tax and thats how it was upheld.
