I can't wait. What a pschological boost it will be when something as huge as this takes place. Ending income tax would change the mindset of Americans drastically. It would mean MAGA is 100% real
I really doubt this will happen, but I would love it if it does. I know I would save a shit ton if I didn't have to pay income tax and only had to pay extra for imported products.
If DOGE could legit downsize the government and the tarrifs pull in enough revenue to stop accumulating government debt (even if the interest doesn't go down), then I could see it happening.
Other countries such as Australia would be forced to take account. I hope this happens. Maybe finally we would seek a proper price for our resources, or value add.

Life wasn’t particularly good, by our Modern standards at least. For the overwhelming majority of the Country. Hell even for the time there was no shortage of miserable conditions by the era’s standards.
Though Corporate Leaders, Lobbyists, Big Businessmen, and the Government officials they bribed. Were indeed living the high life and enjoying the fruits of the time. Everyone else was primarily occupied avoiding any of the numerous problems of the era, trying to avoid premature deaths, and trying to eke out a living.
So reverting to the Tariff System is all well and good. But the problem to address would be to ensure that excess Wealth actually is able to make its way down past the Politicians, CEOs, and upper level corporate management.
But somehow letting unlimited Indians work our high paying jobs, sending the money overseas, and giving them a fast track to green cards is America First.... How?
If income tax is eliminated, just consider the vast amount of money tied up in retirement accounts. All of that becomes instantly available to be used, without losing any of it to income tax. Wise people will still keep it in reserve, but some of it will be repurposed and injected into the economy. And then consider getting a 10-30% raise in your paycheck when withholding ends. And think if the joy we experience when the IRS beast has its teeth ripped out.
