my gut tells me this was a white hat "chaos op". Any Cybertruck owner would know the thing is a titanium, bullet-proof tank. That's one of its main selling points. Kek. Remember the publicity stunt Elon pulled during pre-release, where he threw a rock at the window and it shattered in an epic fail live on camera? It went viral and got people talking about Cybertrucks though!
Now whatever the ramifications of this being staged are, is another story. But this one I'm not buying. How much cheaper and easier would it be to use a regular ol van? Or any "smart car" OTHER than a Cybertruck?
Also why use an electric car in the first place? Wouldn't you want the added boom from the car's own gas tank to go with your blast?
They may have thought, with some reason, that a conflagration would have touched off the battery pack. The truck is built of stainless steel, not titanium. When someone kills himself for the sake of the mission, the mission is not "staged." It may be ineffective, but it is real as death.
Huh, I thought it was titanium. Apparently it's made of "Ultra-hard 30X Cold-rolled Stainless Steel". It's still bulletproof though, at least to 9MM, don't know about the bigger rounds. I would think someone would want a less tanky vehicle for something like this. Also how do we know the driver was inside? Sorry I've been out of the loop for a few weeks
Titanium is pretty expensive and hard to work. I surmise they thought the fireworks payload would light off the lithium battery and make a hellfire. Didn't work. They found the driver's body and ID, along with a fired pistol on the floor. Coroner found a bullet in his head.
