The point is that if you are getting money from his platform you have to abide by his rules. You aren't deplatformed. You are not canceled. You are not banned.
A similar analogy would be going to work at say, a public library. You have freedom of speech but as an employee, you say something you aren't suppose to, they can fire you. You are then Free to say what you want, just aren't getting paid. That's not cancel culture.
Musk is still both feet in EV even though it's still not time for EV.. it's still too inefficient.
His stance on H1B's.
His attacks on Americans "retards" etc.
I'm sorry if you trust him, but i don't in light of all that. I think he's a strategically working with the deep state to lull everyone into his way of thinking, which is Deep State. He's definitely not 'free speech' in practice, even though in speech he says he is. I think he needs to be watched like a hawk because he's not trustworthy. All these things prevent me from considering using his services and products, especially if his free service (X) is already silencing me. It's a major strike and red flag that i can't continue to ignore. I'm open to being wrong about him.. but at this point, it's an uphill battle for him to convince me he's good.
A lot of truth that would otherwise be censored on the old Twitter is being seen by millions of people, and Elon often brings attention to it. You may not like Elon's beliefs, but he is definitely part of the plan.
I do consider that - i see how he could be bringing things to center. But the red flags are still too much for me to ignore, and my 'He's a Trojan Horse' alert is ringing at a shrill level, a level i've been trained to not ignore.
Even if Elon brings attention to the truth, is he any better if he is also trying to shape it and omit inconvenient truths, than say.. msm?
Like i said i'm open to being wrong, and time will tell what happens. But right now i don't trust him.
There's something else i want to add to this. Leaders are good people when you seek to determine they are true, they're not hiding things.
Who cares, we needed X/ Twitter in elons hands the way it was for this election. Whatever they do going forward will just drive users into other platforms where they can share their ideas and thoughts freely without fear of deplatforming. The internet is being reshaped as we speak
So? It's free speech not paid speech
Cancel culture is fine then when Elon does it apparently.

The point is that Elon paraded X as a "free speech" platform and instead censored a lot of people trying to exercise their free speech.
The point wasn't about demonetization?
It literally is. Read it again.
In our sole discretion.
Not sure if you meant to, but sounds like you are contradicting yourself.
so the point is about free speech and censorship
or is it about demonetization?
Getting demonetized on a platform is not censorship. Just like like getting fired isn't.
Have you completely forgotten the entire discourse over the past 8 years with cancel culture?
Free speech and demonetization goes hand in hand.
I think I've seen what i need to see with Elon:

Starlink the only satellite internet.

𝕏 is no longer a 'free speech' platform (I've been trying for months to get my account unsuspended.. not happening) - https://www.avclub.com/elon-musk-twitter-suspensions-global-transparency-report
