Mr Revere, I have a question, since you were around at the time. I’m 60 so, I was born 3 months after the assassination. My parents never talked about it, although I know my father had reel to reel tapes of the newscasts and funeral. When I was in the 7th grade, I had a history teacher who was talking about finding out about it at school. Then he said that the first thing all of them thought was “good, he’s dead”. That comment has stuck with me almost 50 years. At the time I didn’t question it but, wish I had. Was that a “normal” reaction at the time?
Actually, I think my father loved him. It was the history teacher who made the comment. That teacher always seemed like a good person. It was a small town, so everyone pretty much knew everyone. My grandparents were his parent’s neighbors. Solid Christian family. He got into local politics as a democrat in the 80s. I believe he’s still alive. Maybe I need to seek him out and demand an explanation.
My father was a young adult when JFK was shot. He always said almost everyone back then assumed LBJ had a hand in it.
So was I. And so did I.

No, not at all. He was so loved. Makes me curious about what your father may have known.
