Hi, all,
I've never put up a prayer request before, but I feel like this situation needs all of you prayer warriors. I have to keep this short because I'm at work. This is a young woman who works in the same building I manage. She and I actually work together quite a lot because I do some bookkeeping work for her boss. Her name is Nenaa.
She is 24 years old and has a daughter who is about 6 months old. This girl has spent her adult life clawing her way out of a very difficult family situation. I won't go into the details except to say that she lost the brother she was closest to back in the early Fall when he committed suicide. She works part time at her job here, so that she can go home at 2:30 to be a mom so her boyfriend can go to his job. They purposely have their schedules set so that they can take care of their little girl themselves. She has good reasons not to trust even her family to help take care of the baby.
She was at work on Tuesday but looked pale. Yesterday we got word that she had gone to the hospital, but no details. Then today we've gotten word that she is in the ICU with sepsis. Very scary stuff, sepsis.
This girl has been working hard to do everything right despite a childhood situation that was so bad that she's lost multiple of her 8 brothers and sisters, the most recent one--the one she was closest to--lost to suicide. She works hard, takes care of her baby, pays her bills, and is studying for law school.
If you feel moved to pray for her, please pray for Nenaa in northern Illinois.
Thank you all for being the prayer warriors I have watched you all be. I've learned a lot about prayer on this forum. Thank you for that as well.
My brother in law just got over a bad case of sepsis. He almost died. It actually destroyed a heart valve that he had to have replaced. Also he ended up having a brain bleed from the sepsis causing a mini stroke and coma.
Seriously he was hospitalized for three months from it. Mostly so he could get the antibiotics every four hours he needed to get rid of it
I do hope and pray she was hospitalized well before any organ damage occurred. Especially Herat valves bc they are the first to be damaged My prayers go out to her and her family.
Please keep us posted as to her progress.
Thank you for the information. Last update I had today was that she is very swollen on her whole right side and they are trying to get the swelling down to give her a CT scan. Not sure what the CT scan is about. They're looking for the source of the infection, I presume. It's hard to get updates. I hope to know more tomorrow.
The cat scan will show if there is any organ damage. Sepais literally attacks the organs in your body. Hopefully they caught hers early enough so I pray she will not have any permanent damage in any organ but the heart valve is the most likely to be damaged.
My brother in lawβs sepsis somehow ran down through his spine. He initially went into the hospital with severe back pain.
The ER sent him home with Tylenol the first week he went in without doing any blood test or urinalysis at all. He ended up going back a week later and they did do a blood test and immediately hospitalized him.
He was in the ICU also for several weeks. The third day he was there he ended up with the brain bleed. He apparently had two abscesses under the skin rep in his spine one in the set oval region and one on his lumbar region. They never did discover how he got it but he told us later when he was able that it could have come from a bladder infection. Although it never affected his kidneys. He had an enlarged prostate that he wasnt treating.
have they checked her kidneys? Mine was from a kidney stone
