I don't understand why he's pausing the ban on tiktok.

During the signing he was pressed on it and said he wants the U.S. to become a joint venture and receive half the valuation (500 billion) - pressed further he said he changed his mind on the privacy issue because TikTok helped him win the youth vote.

Were the U.S. to own half of a giant social media conglomerate, user privacy would be invaded not just by China but by our own government. It is further spying on our own people.

Also he hinted at forcing a sale to private entity(ies), which might explain why Zuck, Bezos et al are suddenly all cozying up to Trump.
