Even self employed have to make payment every month based on their salary AND if they had to pay in extra last year, they have to make quarterly payments on that amount.
Even us retirees have to pay quarterly - if you underestimate you pay a penalty. The worst part of retirement is paying tax at least 3 times on the same money.
I hear ya! It is ridiculous to actually see how they spend money after they wring every drop from us. I am more sure than ever that DOGE findings will start this country on a better course.
I anticipate the income tax will go away for 2025 income but I dont see there being a big change for 2024 taxes - it seems as though there is not enough time to put that in place BUT my favorite President may surprise us!!
Actually you would change it to 99, then they don't take any income tax out. I did it once during a paid company relocation, I don't recall the reason at the time, something to do with company matching expenses.
We will probably get a refund from fed and then have to use it to pay our freaking state or vice versa. Ever since our kids became adults, we have had to pay one or the other more damn taxes than what they took out of my husband's paychecks.

I made quarterly payments this year on interest I made on money that was taxed to death in the first place!

Go to HR and ask to change your federal withholding to zero.
