I feel proud of him. We need 18 year olds to care about the government and elections and process enough to step up and be part of the change needed. He can still attend college or business school or travel the world or whatever he dreams of doing.

They privatized a lot of Medicare and the Type C plans ( manged care contracts) are already creating problems. So while the VA has its problems, I dont believe it should be private at least until we get a Veteran friendly President.
I agree completely. They were turbulent times and full of sex, drugs and rock n roll - but not hateful to any groups except cops/military it took many years to overcome that on both sides.
What amazes me is how many of my (then) good friends who questioned everything the government said or did are now total sheep and believe the US government would not act against their own citizens. Sometimes I think I am just too old to be awake - very few people I know my age are.

When my kid was a student the dorm rules were pretty detailed about what could cause them to lose their housing priviledge so I think they could enforce it if they want to - my guess is they won't.

Just wonder exactly are you asking - who is we? I, myself believe all people should have the opportunity to use legal means to live whereever they want to live under the laws of the country who accepts them. I do not believe people should rush the borders with no vetting and be granted the rights of citizens without due process. To me that is not immigration - that is invasion.
