"We buy billions of dollars of goods from China per year and China buys trillions of dollars of our debt." I read that in a book today and it got me thinking how President Trump has got a good hold on the gonads of the Chinese government. If and when the truth about our national debt becomes appearant to the vast majority of the American people, they will rise up and say "It isn't our debt, it was stolen and given to the deep state". Then the courts step in and rule that the trillions of dollars of national debt was indeed accrued by fraudulent means and rules that the debt is null and void because "FRAUD VITIATES EVERYTHING". Think how the Chinese government (and any other government) feels right now knowing that they are holding worthless pieces of IOU's that the American government will never pay back. They were probably counting on using those Trillions in the future to prop up their own illegal governments and now the rug is going to be pulled out from under them. This gives President Trump a lot of leverage over business rivals and military rivals. If they cannot build weapon systems then they cannot go up against the US military. They have to play by America's rules or their governments will collapse. It's an interesting philosophical dilemma to ponder about the Chinese holding our debt.
