That's because that what Leftism is - a distortion of the natural order of things. This isn't the best example to illustrate my point I know, but once upon a time, left-handed children in school were admonished as 'sinistrists', the Latin for 'left' being 'sinister'. 'Dexterity' comes from the Latin for 'right'. Even the Romans knew!
I'm a proud left-hander :) I've always wondered if one eye is blind-folded, and some test is given, would there be a difference in the results between those who have the left eye covered, vs those with the right eye covered. I had a graduate geology class once where there were six students and the instructor. 6/7 were left handed. Geology is considered more of a creative science, since so much is imagining what things were like when the rocks were formed :)
My dad was a leftie. A favorite saying was, "If the left half of the brain controls the right side of the body, then left-handed people are the only ones in their right mind."
Yeah but the romans knew, so..
My father, a southpaw born in '22, went to Catholic School and was forced to learn to write with his right hand. He did have beautiful penmanship with it, I might add.
I'm sure it had nothing to do with Sister Mary Discipline and her steel ruler! π
RIP George!

My mom had that happen to her in school. Nun smacked her hand with the ruler everytime she went to write left handed. My dad was also a leftie. Funny thing, none of us ( me, sis, brother) are lefties. Both my kids are tho lol.
My mom went to Catholic School as well, and another punishment they told me about was having to kneel on raw rice. Ouch!
I guess their experience was so good they sent me to Catholic School, too. π The principal, Sister Mary Justin, had a one inch oak paddle with holes drilled into it so it would sting more. Boys had to drop their pants, girls had to lift their skirts, then bend over and hold their ankles. The amount of paddles equivalent to the infraction. Mom liked it so much she had Dad make one for home use! π
They, (thankfully), kicked me out in the middle of third grade and I was on to public school which was a marginal upgrade! π
George wasn't far wrong about the sadistic nature of said schools!
Interesting that the lefty-ness, (kind of like twins), skipped a generation. Perhaps your spouse has southpaws in the family somewhere....
My next door neighbors were punished that way - having to kneel on rice. Or kneel holding your arms out. We had to kneel, lol. I got smart one time and wanted to kneel on the carpet. You'd THINK that would be preferable to hard wood, but no.
