My mother had intravenous vitamin C for breast cancer, but it didn't work. I am certain it could work and has other health benefits, but this whole topic is not a one size fits all. I was saying to someone yesterday, at this point we need a top 20 things to do list. In future hopefully we will have access to an index of more tailored solutions that include the myriad of foods, supplements, substances and devices that we have been hearing about the past 5 years.
This. Absolutely this. There are various cancers and various stages and causes. The body of the patient is also a factor. Sometimes cancers are not tumor based but over proliferation and that has different affects on the body. Multiple battle prong attacks. Thank you for pointing this out.
Iv ascorbic acid alone can only do so much. She should have been on a high dose of liposomal C plus something like acerola or camu camu on top of the IV. Linus Pauling did IV research in the 70s for cancer but he did mixed oral and iv therapy, whereas most current studies did only IV monitoring plasma concentrations. If she is still alive, I would read up both about liposomal C and camu camu. I would also consider green lipped mussel powder as there are a few studies showing promise regarding lyprinol
For people who take vitamin C orally, it can cause nausea. Its best to take low doses several times a day than to take high doses all at once, or to take a buffered C. Also best to take with food.
fun fact: for those who take iron supplements, iron will absorb better if taken with vitamin C. However, iron needs to be taken on an empty stomach to properly absorb, so take your iron with a low-dose buffered C on an empty stomach, preferably in the am, then wait to eat at least 30-minutes.
I should have added that the stuff tastes great. I got the idea from this posted where one of our own helped his father-in-law before he was due to get a stint.
Dear Fren. I think your post says that your vitamin c supplement contains no vitamin c? Please forgive my confusion, but I believe Ascorbic acid is vitamin c.
Vitamin C does not work in a vacuum. I add Vitamin D3/K2 and zinc. I take it every hour on the hour until I feel my body shift. Then I take it before bed and first thing in the mornin. Rarely do I get sick and if I do it lasts 2-3 days not 10.
You and I got the same formula except for K. I take C, D, Zinc and Magnesium. I might get sick one day and get back on my feet again. I wasn't even sick for 3 days for so many years.
When vitamin C (ascorbic acid) comes into contact with free radicals, it can act as an antioxidant by donating electrons to neutralize them. However, in the process, vitamin C itself can become oxidized. One-electron oxidation of ascorbic acid leads to the formation of a stable and non-reactive ascorbic radical (A●). If the ascorbic radical loses another electron, it transforms into dehydroascorbic acid, which still has some biological activity but is less effective as an antioxidant compared to ascorbic acid.
Dehydroascorbic Acid and Aging
Dehydroascorbic acid is a form of vitamin C that is produced when ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is oxidized. It plays a role in skin aging and wrinkling due to its involvement in the oxidative stress response. When skin is exposed to oxidative stress, such as from UV radiation or other environmental factors, ascorbic acid is oxidized to form dehydroascorbic acid and other derivatives. This process helps to neutralize reactive oxygen species (ROS) that can damage skin cells and contribute to aging and wrinkling.
However, the accumulation of dehydroascorbic acid and other oxidized forms of vitamin C can indicate an imbalance in the antioxidant defense system, leading to increased oxidative stress. This can result in the degradation of collagen and elastin, which are essential for skin structure and elasticity. The reduction in these proteins leads to the formation of wrinkles and a loss of skin firmness and elasticity.
Yes, we need some vitamin C but too much will show up as wrinkles.
Astaxanthin, at Amazon, is the antioxidant that you want.

Interesting. I am sure beside C, there's a myraid of other things that would work.

Yep. Search Pauling therapy here with vit c and lysine. Great for cardiac issues.
And ivermectin to handle parasite cancer situations.
This is true. Heres the current cancer doc (which includes Vitamin C):
Heavy metal detox and parasite cleanse?
This is why I take 1000mg every day, and if I start to feel ill, I raise it to 2000mg twice a day (4000 total).
Got over COVID-19 in 36 hours doing that, but still couldn't taste anything for a week.
Now I take ivermectin with it too.
I add Echinacae and Goldenseal if I feel sick.

I take 3000 all at once. No nausea. I have iron stomach.
My doc told me to take it so I do.
Here's the one I use. https://inteligentvitaminc.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=6
If you have heart problems in your family, look into the Pauling Therapy.
Thanks.

I really thank you because my dog is needing the C now and I am using NOW brand for him. I might add this to his protocol after I use the NOW brand.

Pardon the plug - i am a customer - not a retailer.
Super-C from herbdoc.com has no ascorbic acid and gives over 500% DRA in the 3 pills dose per day......

You are correct. If some peddler sells "ascorbic acid free vitamin C", then there is fuckery afoot.
I use NOW brand.

Oh. Thank you for that info. Definitely don't want that.
