My theory starts with the premise that Zelensky and Putin truly hate each other. Trump has already negotiated a peace agreement with Putin, but the one demand Putin has is that he will not make peace with Ukraine while Zelensky is still President.
Today's theatrics threw Zelensky under the bus and he will be forced out of office by his own people.
The new or acting President will then allow for prosperous negotiations to go forward ending in Putin keeping the Donbas and America owning half of Ukraine's mineral rights.
I kinda agree with you, but its not that Putin demands someone other than Zelensky, but rather the Deep State cannot afford peace as an option and they have told Zelensky that he HAS to extract "security guarantees" from Trump - meaning US troops potentially on Ukraine, which is exactly same as joining NATO and is a redline for Putin (main reeason why SMO started).
So you are absolutely right - a new elections, and a new president before peace deal - also exposing why the war raged on for so long. But I think not pushed by Russia, but rather British/French (deep state that is).

The reason why I think Putin doesnt take these things so personally is that in the past every time the West soured relationship with a Ukrainian president, he still managed to work with them and force the west to do a regime change.
Even after Maidan, he managed to convince Poroshenko for a deal and hence they brought in Zelensky.

I agree and now Lindsey Graham is calling for his removal. Something else happened earlier that's just getting out. There was a breakfast at a hotel after he arrived before his meeting with Trump. Members of the Senate were there. Amy klobuchar and other Dems were telling him to fight Trump in the meeting. They must be collecting money. Lindsey Graham told zelensky not to do that in the oval office he will not win! Zelensky listened to the Democrats who have been helping him who lost and now he has lost too!
Now Lindsay calls for his resignation! Hahaha
People need to be mad, especially the Ukrainians.
They need an organic movement, not a color revolution one, to start the process of having an election. The Rada needs to call for one, right now.
But I am not ruling out an assassination, from a disgruntled eejit in ukraine, if that doesn't happen.
Zelenskyy was a literal TV actor playing the role of president of Ukraine before he was the actual president. Something tells me there's a lot more WWE going on here than people think
Wouldn't new elections in Ukraine take months? They take several months in the U.S. I would HIGHLY doubt that Pres. Trump wants to wait until summer (for Ukraine elections) before locking down a peace deal/ceasefire, especially after he said repeatedly that he "would end that war before he even stepped foot in office."
Sadly, POTUS already has egg on his face bigly from that unfulfilled promise. In this instance, I'd think Trump would be more interested in speed ending the bloodshed on both sides vs. perfection of whatever 'deal' is made.
