Europe isn't seeing as much China threat as other parts of the world. Let Europe defend themselves, WW2 was over 80 years ago and we have gone broke providing their defence while they screwed us at every opportunity. Our days of being the Khazar bully club are over.
China doesn't want to threaten Europe. An alliance is the ultimate goal. Russia is worried about being burned by China pursuing a relationship with the EU and leaving them out of BRICS. A free trade relationship between China and the EU leaves the US sidelined and Russia doesn't want to be on the wrong side of that like they were post WW2.
If China makes the case that they are the more reliable trading partner, and guarantees oil through Russia, we are fucked.
As crazy as it sounds, it seems like working economically allying with Russia could strengthen the balance of power positively for both the USA and them. They cant be any worse than the EU.
Sure but we're currently in a circle jerk. Russia is allied with China economically and militarily. China has minerals we rely on for manufacturing, as well as a much larger market than Russia. Russia only has some of those minerals (China accounts for 70% of global rare earth mineral production and has over 10x the reserves of Russia). We are tariffing China and they are blocking access to those minerals. China wants access to European markets so they want to see Russia expand their influence through Ukraine and oil/gas. The US wants to limit their power in Europe while still giving Russia an appeasement to stop advancing and give peace. The US also wants Europe to rely more on American oil and gas.
This is an overlooked question. China funds Russia in this conflict like we funded Ukraine. This is a proxy war with neither the US or China willing to land boots on European soil. Trump understands that Europe will eventually align with China if we don't get this right. After that, the US will be totally cut out.
Would withdrawal of all troops from Europe be prudent considering the China threat?

Someone has to blink, and it's not Russia.
