A large portion of your population are descended from French Acadians who fled the Canadian Maritimes after the Seven Years/French and Indian War. You know them as Cajuns. Don't believe the garbage you see on the CBC. Quebecers are some of the most based people on the continent and as one of the pre existing colonies (along with Acadia and Newfoundland, at the signing of the Articles of Confederation) wouldn't require a constitutional amendment to achieve Statehood.
And as far as I know the open ended offer from way back is still valid. AB could swing a deal where USA could forfeit the entry fee.
Would be worth it for both parties. 1978 study pegged Alberta as the richest province in Canada by far and made Canada the richest country in the world by far surpassing even the old Soviet Union.
However to become a member of The Republic of America will require an Alberta constitution and THAT they do not have. But that is an easy fix.
Love to see this as it will blow open the missing constitution issue in Canada as a whole.
