For example my Local County Department provides Nighttime Security to a few Businesses and municipal buildings locally in my area on a contract basis.
Not much goes on out here crime or otherwise. So the positions are usually given to the older people closing in on retirement. Or people on reduced duty due to pregnancy or some other medical situation. Who didn’t want desk duty.
As the extent of their job is to occasionally make rounds and check locks. And file a report at the end of the night.
Depends on the area and school. Many places don’t really do DARE anymore as it’s fallen by the wayside and was of questionable effectiveness even while it was ongoing.
DEI sometimes hurts the "beneficiaries."

Do police officers still go to elementary or middle schools and do that D.A.R.E. presentation like they used to? She'd be perfect for that.
