I am VERY familiar with that weapons platform. As I understand it, The US versions can be remote aborted. There is supposedly a superdyduper secret chipset imbedded in the guidance controls that can be activated to cause the missle to turf out either in the launchtube or in flight
Funny side story … I accidentally “activated” a missile during a practice exercise. Had to abort from the firing position. Once the system goes hot, the battery on the launch tube feeds another battery that powers up the missile. Once it goes hot, thats it, no shutting off the power up. It cost $8000 to replace the battery on the tube. I was sweating bullets for a week while they decided if they were gonna make me pay for it. They didnt … THANK GOD. 😂😂😂. I got my ass reamed round-robin style. It felt like every Sergeant Major and Field grade officer in a 5 mile radius lined up to take a chunk out of my ass.
