I don't think so ... I think windows was going to be forced onto the world no matter how awful it was with Gates clearly being in on the global scam. MSDOS was the Trojan horse into business ... Windows sealed the deal.
It's funny how Apple started out as an open hardware platform back in the day. Even Microsoft made expansion cards for the Apple II and IIe . Jobs certainly didn't feel that way once Apple moved onto the Macintosh.
Regarding MacOS, he probably didn't want the headaches of an OS needing to support so much different hardware like Windows. Plus he could keep his hardware profit margins high.
One thing is for sure about Jobs ... He got the phone market right :-).
While he was alive sure. Now... Ehhhh.... Tbh it depends on the metric at play but Android as an OS has them beat almost 4x over. Granted no one company has iPhone beat for total share, but from an OS android is more prolific than the phone's OS.

I like windows open source capabilities. windows is for people that like tinkering.
