I don’t know why they are worried. We are still going to be spending as much or more on defense. We will still be expending weapons on terrorists, drug cartels and other rogue players. Plus it would be nice to have more practice weapons for training. Normally that is like a treat.
I agree. I worked for the defense & space side of the Boeing Company for 40 years, and all I saw was hard competition for development and production contracts. If there was any slavering over foreigners killed, I never saw it, nor was it ever, ever a matter of mention. A good many of the professional staff were Air Force, Army, and Navy veterans, not interested in deadly bullshit. There was a big defense pulldown upon the fall of the Soviet Union (i.e., end of the Cold War), but we all had to shrug and make do with what was left to do. (My specialty at that time was strategic defense, which was essentially canceled. I had to change my spots.)
