Yeah. To be honest I agree.
Fun posts should be allowed every now and then but I saw what happened to VOAT and it became more about fun posts and memes than it was about the real stuff that we come here for.
I'm just one person voicing my opinion. If the majority disagrees with me then I have to accept that. I'm okay with that. If this site becomes more about fun, silly, jovial posts than actual informative news then I would still come here for a chuckle but I'll have to find another forum for serious news.
Just keep in mind that I'm not flooding this forum with such posts. Not to mention names, but I see some people with high post counts and pepe avatars who post fake tweets and fake news that feed off of confirmation bias. I don't really make many posts at all because I don't live in America and every day the day in America is already almost over by the time I wake up and try to catch up with news.
It's so nice to see civil disagreement. & I've gotta admit, now I'm curious to see more imperfect circular fried foods🐸
Yes, it's refreshing considering that just yesterday I had someone on here get very nasty with me, insulting me, and making hare-brained allegories by putting words in my mouth. FWIW, I did not join in on downvoting CrockoSuds for stating his opinion. I just think that posting a funny picture of an onion ring shaped like a Q is better than posting that damned, overused meme of the retro-looking woman with a coffee cup saying, "I haven't seen the Democats this mad since we took away their slaves" and boring crap like that. As if anyone is old enough to have witnessed the abolition of slavery. Well, maybe if there are such people, DOGE just ended their social security benefits!
I doubt that. And, the be quite frank, I'm a bit like the OP. The real concern re: AW, as far as they go, is not that we might get too many fun or shitposts, but the rather low effort copy/paste 'news' stuff that comes here.
Not originally designed to be a forum for "serious news". Meant to be a forum for research, discussion, analysis (RDA), but sadly (imo) GAW has slid a lot towards merely becoming a news aggregation site.
The news is good, but I'd prefer to see more RDA, myself.
100%. I try to avoid reposting news unless it's hyuge. I like to find coincidences and share them as well as reposting other anons decodes/coincidences. That's the best I can contribute to the forum based on it's original design. I would post more of my findings but the majority of people here aren't interested.
