Can't people just go back to the old days, when Teslas would set themselves on fire?! Seriously though, I think what is truly bothering Musk, me, and a lot of us anons is that there are two types of people... smart people who create things, and dumb people who are jealous of the smart people and who can only destroy things. Destruction is their form of "creating" and the mindless mob with Molotov cocktails, are their tool of destruction.
I'd like to go back a bit further where public hangings were the thing to do for criminals and those who commit treason...

There was a moment of hesitation regarding if he should say it: yes, we know who they are.
Maybe the pushback on Tesla is Trump's way of slowly removing electric cars from society? Starting at the top and working across the board? Since the military is behind Elon and "his" "purchase" of X anyway, maybe Tesla is a bit of the same. Now we get a shift (globally lol) back to gas.
EVs are an amazing technology. But they are a niche product. Trying to replace ICE with them now is a madness only the nut jobs will push for, because it would do so much damage, which is their true end goal.
