An Unelected man is negotiating on behalf of all of Canada. Dropping some of these tariffs will put farmers out of business really soon. There is some preservation & Wisdom within certain tariffs. This is an unimaginable moment in History.
I'm the son of a hog and beef cattle farmer. Dad always said, "No farmer ever got rich off government subsidies."
To that, I'd add, There's no such thing as job security. Nobody knows that better than farmers. This shift is a long time coming.
In the bigger picture, this is not a good news for many Canadian Farmers. Your Father is free to have an experienced opinion but he does not speak for all of Canada.
