Fact Sheet: President Donald J. Trump Declares National Emergency to Increase our Competitive Edge, Protect our Sovereignty, and Strengthen our National and Economic Security
The International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) of 1977 is a U.S. federal law that grants the president authority to regulate international commerce during a declared national emergency. This emergency must stem from an "unusual and extraordinary threat" to the nation's security, foreign policy, or economy, originating outside the United States.
Key provisions include:
Asset Control: The president can block transactions and freeze assets to address the threat.
Property Confiscation: In the event of an actual attack on the U.S., property connected to entities aiding the attack can be confiscated.
Annual Renewal: Emergencies declared under IEEPA must be renewed annually to remain in effect.

What powers does the President gain when declaring a national emergency?
When a president declares a national emergency, they gain access to special powers that Congress has previously authorized under various statutes. These powers are designed to address urgent situations that require immediate action. Here's a breakdown:
Statutory Powers: Over 130 statutory provisions become available, including:
Control over domestic transportation and communication facilities.
Suspension of certain environmental regulations, like the Clean Air Act.
Access to national defense stockpiles and resources.
Authority to seize private property under specific conditions.
Military and Defense: The president can redirect funds and resources for national defense purposes, such as building infrastructure or deploying troops.
Economic Measures: They can impose trade restrictions, tariffs, or financial sanctions to protect national interests.
Asset control, property confiscation and deploying troops stands out to me. Seems like all the bases are covered. China owned assets here in the USA may be a target? Blackrock monopoly seems like an economic threat to me. It seems President Trump now has the power manipulate some of the larger economic threats posed against our nation. Let us hope he takes full advantage of the opportunity.
Can this be seen as a legal basis to dismantle the FED?
And the IRS
I wonder what the value of the Panama Canal is today ?
