The United States of America is the only country in the world that needs no other country.
-
we make food that can provide for over twice, three times our size.
-
we have more energy reserves than Saudia Arabia. We have energy output that surpasses the rest of the world.
-
we have industrial capacity that has been laid dormant. At a moments notice? We can build!
-
we have the inventive and creative talent no other country can match!
-
arlington and riverside cemeteries are there for a reason.
Real countries are self-sufficient. Time to turn off the $ faucet and see who's still left standing at the end of the day.
Not true.
Russia is the closest you get to autarky.
US is a distant second.
Proof: 'sanctions'. They build everything in-house. Including weapons the US can't build.
And they maintain their engineering culture, to the point they have engineers in their government.
How many engineers do we have in our government?
Sanctions don’t hurt Russia. Fortress Russia is self sufficient
Do communists that engineer riots / subversion count?
They count as traitors.
Our gov is full of lawyers.
I agree with you. They have shown the rest of the world that they 100% do not need us or anyone else.
Our ability, although lacking at the moment, is far greater than Russias.
Do we have the necessary rare earth minerals? I hope we can find and develop access to our own deposits of these.
Yes, we have some of the largest deposits of rare earth minerals on planet earth.
The USA is so blessed in every resource. We just have lacked in blessed leadership.
We also have GenX to thank for actually making a lot of babies. Most other first world countries are very elderly. We have a huge millennial population that will add vitality to our economy for many years to come.
BTW, how do we encourage having more babies? Fathers back in the homes, housewives and Motherhood encouraged?
Ideas, anyone?
It needs to be affordable on a single income. Right now housing, food, living in general are far too expensive.
Plus the quality of life issues. If you're making the big money as an employee now, you likely depend on a big city... and it's not remote anymore. So either you spend even more to live closer to work, or an extra hour or more a day unpaid in the car or train... and it's still too expensive for the salaries (if you look at NY, Miami, California, etc...)
